Sustainability assessment and carbon credit readiness
From Climate Ambition to Credible Carbon Value.
SustainAI helps African organisations and carbon project developers measure emissions, plan decarbonisation and assess whether a carbon credit route is feasible, combining sustainability expertise with structured assessment technology.
Starting in Nigeria, built for Africa.
Our approach
Measurement first. Credits only where they are credible.
Carbon credits depend on reliable measurement and real reductions. We help organisations understand their emissions, decide where to reduce them and assess honestly whether a carbon credit route is feasible.
Where a project has potential, we help it prepare for independent validation and verification, and we are clear about which steps we support and which are carried out by independent bodies, registries and buyers.
The assessment journey
Measure → Reduce → Assess → Prepare → Validate → Connect
What are our emissions today?
Activity data such as fuel, electricity and process inputs is collected, emissions are calculated by scope using recognised methods, and assumptions and data gaps are documented.
Outcome: An emissions baseline for reporting and planning.

- Important limit
- A baseline is a measurement. It does not create credits on its own.
Services
Six assessment services, from baseline to market readiness
- 01GHG Baseline and Carbon Footprint AssessmentMeasure the greenhouse gas emissions of your organisation or project using the GHG Protocol, covering Scope 1 and 2 and, where relevant, Scope 3.Learn more
- 02Decarbonisation StrategyIdentify and prioritise practical emission reductions, such as efficiency, fuel switching, renewable supply and process changes, with indicative costs and trade-offs.Learn more
- 03Carbon Credit Eligibility and FeasibilityScreen whether an activity could generate credits under a recognised standard, considering additionality, baselines, methodologies, permanence, leakage and host-country requirements.Learn more
- 04Carbon Credit Readiness AssessmentAssess how prepared a project is for independent validation across documentation, data, monitoring, rights to emission reductions, stakeholder engagement and safeguards.Learn more
- 05MRV and Evidence ManagementDesign measurement, reporting and verification processes so that monitoring data and evidence can withstand independent review.Learn more
- 06Project Documentation and Market Readiness AdvisorySupport with preparing documentation for an independent validation and verification body, planning registry processes and preparing for conversations with buyers and financiers.Learn more
An important distinction
Reducing emissions does not automatically create carbon credits.
A measured reduction has real value for cost, reporting and targets. A carbon credit is a separate instrument. It must meet the tests of a specific standard and methodology, be validated and verified by an accredited independent body, and then be issued in a registry.
We assess eligibility and feasibility honestly, including when the answer is that a crediting route is not viable.
Stage 1: Measured emission reduction
Valuable in its own right for cost, reporting and targets
Stage 2: Potentially eligible
Passes the tests of a specific standard and methodology
Stage 3: Validated and verified
Confirmed by an accredited independent body
Stage 4: Issued credits
Serialised in the standard's registry
Advisory and technology
Expert judgement, supported by structured assessment.
- Structured data collection, so the same questions are asked of every project
- Consistent assessment criteria applied across readiness areas
- An evidence trail linking each conclusion to its supporting information
- Advisers remain responsible for every judgement and recommendation
Who we work with
Starting in Nigeria, built for Africa.
We work first with organisations and project developers in Nigeria, with wider African expansion planned. Nigerian projects may be subject to national climate change requirements, including those overseen by the National Council on Climate Change established under the Climate Change Act 2021. These requirements are still developing, so each project's position is checked at the time of assessment.
Project developers
Understand whether a project has a credible crediting route and what it needs before independent validation.
Renewable energy companies
Evidence baselines, metering and additionality for distributed and captive generation projects.
Industrial operators
Measure site emissions, plan reductions and understand any reporting or compliance implications.
Sustainability leaders
Build a defensible baseline and a realistic decarbonisation roadmap for the organisation.
Climate investors
Understand the evidence and readiness position of projects under consideration.
